STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-River Falls volleyball team opened WIAC conference play with a tough 3-0 loss to the No. 20 UW-Stevens Point Pointers.
The Pointers took the three sets 28-26, 25-23, and 25-19. In the first set, the Falcons led a majority and battled with the Pointers to an extra point set.
Sami Hilley led UWRF with 13 kills and hitting .619.
Kameri Meredith had a double double of 11 kills and 15 digs.
Grace Boles set up the offense with 17 assists while adding five digs. Katelyn added four blocks and six kills to her night.
UWRF totaled 36 kills and hit .184 overall. Their best set came in the third where they hit .194. Stevens Point hit .224 and had 45 kills.
The Falcons travel to the Waverly, Iowa for the Wartburg College Tournament, They face No. 14 Cornell Friday night.
