WAVERLY, Iowa - The UW-River Falls volleyball team closed out competition at the Wartburg College Tournament on Saturday with a 3-0 win over St. Norbert College.
The Falcons, now 11-4 overall, went undefeated with three wins over the weekend over No. 14-ranked Cornell College, Warburg, and St. Norbert.
In the first set versus the Green Knights, the Falcons trailed by as many as 21-12 before an impressive comeback, closing out the set with a 14-3 run to win 26-24 and earn a 1-0 lead.
UWRF's momentum carried into the middle frame, dominating St. Norbert 25-6 with a .368 hitting percentage while limiting SNC to a -.323 attacking rate and forcing 13 Green Knight errors.
Up 2-0, the Falcons didn't look back, taking the third set 25-16 to complete the weekend with three wins.
Kameri Meredith led the team with 11 kills while freshman setter
Olivia Gustafsson tallied a season-high 20 assists. Defensively,
Katelyn Nichols had four blocks while
Brenna Olson had 15 digs.
Sami Hilley and
Grace Boles were named to the All-Tournament Team.
UWRF returns to Page Arena next week while heading back into WIAC play, hosting UW-Stout on Wednesday, Sept. 27.
