RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls volleyball team picked up its first WIAC conference win of the season defeating UW-Stout in five sets 25-20, 25-12, 10-25, 22-25, 15-9.
The first set was a back-and-forth battle with the score tying up eight times in the set. It was the Falcons who eventually broke the tie and took the lead late in the set. They easily took set two after hitting a game high .379.
In the third and fourth sets it was the Blue Devils who came out on top outhitting the Falcons and forcing UWRF into 15 hitting errors in the two sets.
In the fourth set the Falcons tied it up at the 4-4 mark and never looked back holding the lead till the end of the match.
Overall, the Falcons hit .162.
Kameri Meredith led the team with 22 kills and added 18 digs for her double double night.
Sami Hilley and
Katelyn Nichols added to the kill total with 13 and 10 kills respectively.
Grace Boles tallied 21 assists. Defensively,
Katelyn Nichols had five blocks while
Brenna Olson had 15 digs.
