ST. PAUL, Minn. - The UW-River Falls women's soccer team earned a 1-0 nonconference road win at Macalester College Sunday afternoon.
With their second win on the week, the Falcons' overall record improve to 4-2-2 overall.
After a scoreless first half, UWRF scored the eventual game-winner early in the second half, with
Madyson Shew scoring her fourth of the season at the 52nd minute with help from
Ellie Ketcher and
Lexi Peterson.
Despite being outshot 15-10 by the Scots, the Falcons held on for their fourth shutout of the season, led by goaltender
Grace Zellmer's six saves for her first shutout of the year.
UWRF opens conference action next Saturday, Sept. 30, hosting UW-Platteville for the WIAC opener during UWRF Homecoming at 2 p.m.
