RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's hockey team won 4-3 over Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday night at Hunt Arena.
Aidan Torres opened the game's scoring just over three minutes into game, his first goal as a Falcon, but the Gusties answered with two goals to claim a 2-1 lead after one period.
UWRF's strong second period made the difference as the Falcons scored three goals by
Matt Clark,
Burke Simpson, and
Connor McGrath. McGrath scored the eventual game-winner at the 11-minute mark with help from
Noah Roofe to give UWRF a 4-2 lead heading into the final 20 minutes.
Gustavus scored late but were unable to add anymore as the Falcons picked up the 4-3 win.
The Gusties held a 27-20 edge in shots on goal, with
Dysen Skinner making 24 saves to earn his fourth win of the season.
UWRF, now 10-6 overall, travels to face Augsburg University on Tuesday, Jan. 16 in Minneapolis, Minn.
