STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-River Falls women's basketball team won 62-45 at UW-Stevens Point Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Falcons swept the season series against the Pointers, following up the 63-60 overtime win over UWSP last Wednesday.
After the Falcons were outscored 22-11 in the first quarter, they allowed just 23 Pointer points for the rest of the game, including a monster second quarter in which UWRF outscored the home team 23-3. The Falcons led by as many as 12 with a pair of
Zoey Buchan late in the second quarter and held an advantage for the rest of the game.
Julia Seidel led the Falcons with 17 points with four made triples, followed by
Macy Nilsen's 13 points and team-high nine rebounds.Â
UWRF held a 45-42 edge in rebounds and forced 15 Pointer turnovers, turning those into 14 points.
The Falcons (12-7, 3-5 WIAC) return to Page Arena to host UW-La Crosse next Wednesday.
