RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls women's basketball team defeated UW-La Crosse 75-60 Wednesday night at Page Arena.
UWRF played a solid four quarters and was strong on the glass, out-rebounding the Eagles 50-36, matching a season-high. UWRF also tied a season-high with 10 made three-pointers and shot just under 40 percent from the field.
The Falcons and Eagles had four lead changes throughout the game. After a tight first half, UWRF took control in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors 26-15.Â
Five minutes into the second half, three consecutive field goals including a
Julia Seidel triple gave UWRF a double-digit advantage, and the home team led by at least eight for the rest of the night.
Macy Nilsen led the Falcons with 23 points, shooting 8-of-18 from the field, trailed by 13 points from Seidel. Nilsen and Seidel both made a trio of three-pointers, while
Olivia Miron had a team-high 10 rebounds.Â
UWRF (13-7, 4-5 WIAC) heads to UW-Platteville on Saturday.
