PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The UW-River Falls women's soccer team lost its most recent matchup, falling at UW-Platteville 1-0 on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The loss dropped UWRF's record to 6-4-1 on the season and 1-1-0 in WIAC play.
The match was tightly contested, as neither team was able to score through the first 82 minutes. In the first half, UWRF was out shot 9-3, but managed two corner kicks and limited UW-Platteville from totaling any shots on goal — the Pioneers managed nine total shots in the first 45 minutes of play.

Lydia Smith scored for the Pioneers in the 83rd minute, off an assist from Jorie Carr. UWRF goalkeeper Grace Zellmer recorded five saves in the second half, but the Falcons were unable to erase the one-goal deficit, as UW-Platteville held on to win 1-0.
