Falcons play out scoreless draw against Hamline

RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The UW-River Falls women's soccer team played out a 0-0 draw against Hamline at Ramer Soccer Stadium on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

The tie moved UWRF's record on the season to 6-4-1 overall. The Falcons held an 11-4 advantage in shots and a 5-3 advantage in shots on goal, but the team was unable to find a game-winning goal.

In addition to the 0-0 scoreline, both teams mirrored each other with the same exact amount of total fouls, 10.

In the first half, both teams were exactly even with four shots each. Goalkeeper Grace Zellmer made three saves in the first half, keeping the Pipers off the board.

UWRF elevated its offensive efforts in the second half, holding a 7-0 advantage in shots. The Falcons also totaled three corner kicks in the second half. River Falls controlled a majority of possession in the second half, but ultimately the game played out to a 0-0 draw at the final whistle.

Lauren Best was UWRF's top offensive option in the match, totaling a match-high four shots and three shots on goal.

Up next, UWRF is set to continue its homestand by hosting UW-Stevens Point at Ramer Soccer Stadium on Oct. 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
