RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The UW-River Falls volleyball team closed out its regular season home schedule with a 3-1 nonconference win over Carleton College during Senior Night on Wednesday evening at Page Arena.

The Falcons, now 12-19 overall, defeated the Knights 25-21, 19-25, 25-18, 25-22 while honoring Ashley Guse and Abbi Hassforth. UWRF had a .123 hitting percentage compared to Carleton's .086 hitting rate, tallying a season-high 14 total blocks, led by a career-high 11 block performance from Reese Bauman

In the opening frame, neither team led by more than four until the Falcons gained momentum with a 6-2 run to claim a 20-15 lead, eventually winning 25-21 to grab a 1-0 advantage. Carleton responded in the next set to knot the score at 1-1.

UWRF had its most efficient attacking set in the third, hitting .324 while forcing nine Carleton errors. The Falcons had a 5-0 run early on to lead 9-4 and led for the remainder of the set, leading by as many as 24-13.

While the final set wasn't UWRF's smoothest, the Falcons battled back from an early four-point deficit to tie the score at 9-9. From then on, the Falcons and Knights traded a pair of leads and a 4-0 run put UWRF up 22-20. Kills from Ava Goldsberry and Tiara Diamond helped the home team close out the set and match 25-22.

Goldsberry led the team with 12 kills and 13 digs with a .258 hitting percentage, while Cora Sayotovich had 24 assists.

The Falcons close out their regular season on Friday night at No. 6-ranked UW-Oshkosh.
