MENOMONIE, Wis. - The UW-River Falls women's basketball team fell 71-66 at UW-Stout Wednesday evening.
While the Falcons shot 40 percent from the field and were strong at the free throw line making 18-of-22, the Blue Devils shot 50 percent from the field and made nine three-pointers.
A back and forth first half featured four lead changes along with eight tied scores. The Falcons outscored the Blue Devils 19-18 in the first quarter before the home team responded with a 18-14 lead in the second to claim a 36-33 lead at the intermission.
Despite another competitive half in the final 20 minutes, the Falcons were unable to break the Blue Devil lead. Stout increased its lead to double digits early in the fourth quarter, but the Falcons pushed back and trimmed the Blue Devil lead to 60-58 after a
Macy Nilsen fastbreak bucket with 3:37 left in regulation. UWRF once more came within two points after a pair of

Nilsen led the Falcons with 29 points and six rebounds, shooting 9-of-13 from the field and a season-best 8-of-8 at the charity stripe.
