WHITEWATER, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team closed out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a 66-58 at UW-Whitewater.
The Falcons (14-11, 8-6 WIAC) received the No. 2 seed and a first round bye for the WIAC Tournament and will host the highest remaining seed on Thursday, Feb. 22 at Page Arena.
UWRF shot just over 40 percent from the field and 9-of-21 from three-point range, including a four made triples from
Noah Hanson, who led the team with 19 points.
Hanson made 4-of-5 three-point field goal attempts while UWRF went 7-of-14 from long range in the first half, claiming a 33-25 lead at the intermission.
UWRF led by as many as nine points on three occasions in the first half and led for the remainder of regulation despite a strong second half push from the Warhawks.
Leading by eight heading into the second stanza, the Falcons extended their lead into double digits early into the second half and led by at least five for the rest of the game.
UWRF was strong on the glass with a 46-32 edge in rebounds, led by eight each from Hanson and
Marshall Holland.
Zach Johnson led the Falcons with six assists while adding 13 points.
