PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The UW-River Falls men's basketball team saw its season come to an end Saturday evening with a 97-74 loss at UW-Platteville in the WIAC Tournament Championship.
UWRF finishes with a 15-12 overall record while making its first appearance in the WIAC Championship since 2018.
While the Falcons hung in with the the Pioneers in the first half, leading to a 37-37 score at the intermission, the top-seeded and No. 15-ranked Pioneers took over in the second half, making 9-of-14 three-pointers leading to 60 second-half points to run away with the win and claim a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Falcons shot 46 percent in the first half and were limited to 35 percent in the second half.
Noah Hanson led the Falcons with 25 points, shooting 7-of-13 from the field.
Rebounds were deadlocked at 32-32 while UWRF led 13-6 in second-chance points.Â
Marshall Holland led UWRF with seven rebounds while
Zac Johnson had four assists and 15 points.
