RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The UW-River Falls women's basketball team earned an 85-50 victory over UW-Eau Claire Wednesday night at Page Arena during National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
The Falcons, now 14-8 overall and 5-6 in the WIAC, made a season-high 14 three-point field goals along with a season-high 20 assists and 85 points.
UWRF's 14 made triples is tied for the third most in UWRF single-game history, and the 85 points scored is the most against he Blugolds since 1995.
Seven Falcons made at least one field goal from beyond the arc, led by four each from
Macy Nilsen and
Zoey Buchan. Nilsen led the Falcons with a career-high 32 points off 12-of-21 shooting from the field.
Kameri Meredith and Nilsen tied for the team-high with nine rebounds each while Meredith led the way with a career-high five assists and had a season-high 14 points.
The Falcons posted a dominating edge in rebounds at 49-27 and led 22-6 in second chance points. UWRF held the Blugolds to 32.7 percent shooting from the field while shooting at a rate of 43.5 percent (30-of-69.
UWRF remains at home this Saturday to host No. 16-ranked UW-Oshkosh.
