Gunderson Wins Women's Pole Vault at Eagle Open

LA CROSSE, Wis. - UWRF track & field sent a group of student-athletes to compete at the Eagle Open on Friday on the campus of UW-La Crosse at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Annika Gunderson led the Falcons with a first place finish in the women's pole vault, leaping 12 feet, 4.75 inches (3.78 meters), her second-highest mark this season.

Katie Haase finished 10th of 27 athletes in the discus throw while Lexi LeFever competed in the long jump and shot put. 

Dylan Wachter took third in the men's 800-meter run, clocking a time of 1:53.44, while Yaih Marial tied for seventh in the men's high jump at 1.93 meters. Joel Alexander finished 10th in the triple jump.

The 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships are set to take place on May 23-25 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
