The UW-River Falls track & field teams return to action this weekend as they travel to UW-Platteville for the Platteville Invitational, a two-day meet set for Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11. The meet will feature a full slate of events across both days, highlighted by distance races on Friday evening and a complete competition schedule on Saturday.
Friday's action will primarily showcase the 5,000-meter races along with hammer throw competition, while Saturday will include a full lineup of track and field events, beginning at 11 a.m. and concluding with the 4x400 relays.

FALCON NOTES
- On the men's side, Jacob Balcome continues to lead the way after a standout indoor season that saw him earn USTFCCCA Most Outstanding Field Performer honors following a national championship performance in the heptathlon. Balcome also opened the outdoor season with a personal-best 49.80 in the 400 meters, ranking ninth all-time in program history.
- Distance events have been a strength early in the outdoor campaign, with Ryan Pierson capturing the 5,000-meter title in the last invite while also moving into the program's top-10.Â
- Logan Munson secured a win in the 800 meters at the same invite. In the field events, Logan Schmidt has also made an immediate impact, posting a top-10 mark in program history in the shot put.
- On the women's side, the Falcons have showcased depth and dominance, particularly in distance events. Laina Viere led a 1-2-3-4 sweep in the 5,000 meters with a meet-record performance (18:15.00) that ranks seventh all-time in school history.
- In the throws, Ali Clifford delivered a meet-record performance in the shot put (12.81m), while Alexis Koch added a victory in the hammer throw (48.04m), continuing a strong start to the outdoor season for the Falcon throwers.Â
