INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the participants in the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, featuring Jacob Balcome, Annika Gunderson, Georgia Mundt, and Lauryn Schutz of UW-River Falls.
The 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships will be held May 21-23 at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex on the campus of University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
For each individual event contested, including the decathlon and heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
Jacob Balcome, the reigning national champion in the heptathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships, will make his third consecutive appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships after earning All-America honors with a fourth-place finish in 2025. He enters the national meet as the No. 2 seed following a personal-best and school-record 7,195-point performance at the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge on April 16-17.
Annika Gunderson, a senior pole vaulter and the program record holder, qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the fourth consecutive season after clearing 3.85 meters at the UW-La Crosse Uncaged Open on May 8.
Sophomore Georgia Mundt will make her first career appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the discus throw. At the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge on April 17, she recorded a personal-best throw of 45.66 meters, the third-best mark in program history.
Thrower Lauryn Schutz, who earned USTFCCCA Second Team All-America honors in the weight throw at this year's NCAA Indoor Championships, qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the first time in her career in the hammer throw. She recently recorded a school-record throw of 53.55 meters at the UW-La Crosse Uncaged Open, breaking a 27-year-old program record.
