The UW-River Falls men's hockey team is set to open the 2025 calendar year this weekend hosting Augsburg University on Friday, Jan. 3 before traveling to face UW-Stout on Saturday night, Jan. 4.

• The Falcons are ranked No. 14 nationally in the latest USCHO Division III poll, and received votes in the latest DIII Hockey News rankings.
• Before the holiday break, the Falcons split a WIAC home & home series with UW-Stout, playing to overtime in both games. After a 4-3 OT loss in Menomonie, the Falcons answered with a 3-2 OT win in River Falls.
• Through 11 games before the break, junior forward Dylan Smith leads the Falcons and ranks tied for second in the WIAC with seven goals.
  • Smith, Max Collette, and Jonny Meiers share the team scoring lead with 10 points each.
• Goaltender Brennan Boynton, already a two-time WIAC Player of the Week, has started in all 11 games and leads the league with a .931 save percentage, 1.90 goals against average, and 25.7 saves per game.
