RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The UW-River Falls volleyball team was defeated in straight sets by No. 3-ranked UW-Oshkosh on Friday evening at Page Arena.
The Falcons, now 9-10 overall and 0-3 during WIAC play, fell by set scores of 25-16, 25-17, and 25-23.
UW-River Falls struggled offensively in the first two sets, hitting .061 and .028 respectively, but showed improvement in the third, recording 12 kills and a .122 hitting percentage. The final frame featured seven tie scores and six lead changes, as the Falcons challenged Oshkosh throughout before the Titans secured the sweep.
Lauren Noth and Ava Goldsberry led the Falcons with eight kills each. Noth added two service aces and four digs, while Goldsberry contributed seven digs and two aces. Emily Brenner posted seven kills on a team-high .294 hitting percentage.
Defensively, Audrey Petersen led all players with 18 digs, and Ellie Mascotti added eight. Blessing Adebisi recorded six block assists and three kills, helping the Falcons total seven team blocks and 45 digs.
Tomorrow, the Falcons host the Titans, Saint Benedict, and Maclester College during the UWRF Quadrangular. The first of four matches at Page Arena begins with a 1 p.m. contest between the Falcons and Saint Benedict.
