ST. PAUL, Minn. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team fought to a 0-0 draw against the Hamline Pipers on Wednesday evening at Paterson Field. The Falcons took 10 shots, including four on goal, while the Pipers managed six shots, one on goal, in a defensive showdown.
The tie moves UWRF to 9-3-1 on the season, while Hamline moves to 3-4-6.
Neither team found the back of the net despite several chances, with UWRF holding the edge in shots 10-6. The Falcons defense, anchored by goalkeeper Kiera Nelson, secured the shutout with one save over 90 minutes. Hamline's Maddox Fergus made four saves to keep the clean sheet. The Falcons committed eight fouls compared to Hamline's four, with no cards issued.
The Falcons will aim to return to the win column in their next WIAC match. Up next, UWRF will host UW-Platteville on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ramer Soccer Stadium.
