OSHKOSH, Wis. - The UW- River Falls women's soccer team fell 0-2 to UW–Oshkosh Saturday afternoon at J. J. Keller Field in the final regular-season match before heading into WIAC Tournament play.
After a scoreless opening half, the Titans broke through with a pair of second-half goals from Maddie Daigle in the 56th minute and Maris Heun in the 62nd, sealing the result.
The Falcons (12-5-2, 3-3-1 WIAC) generated consistent pressure with 10 total shots, three on goal led by Sarah Wagner's three attempts and one on target. Lauren Best, Valerie Leonard, Gretchen Hanson, Macy Zins, Lexi Moen and Mariah Martin also contributed to the attack.
Goalkeeper Courtney Bain recorded four saves over 90 minutes in net. Despite the setback, UW–River Falls finishes the regular season with its highest win total since 2014 and enters the postseason positioned among the WIAC's top teams.
The Falcons will open WIAC Tournament play next week, with seeding and opponent to be announced following Saturday's remaining conference results.
