MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) released its Kwik Trip Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 27-Nov. 2, with
Kaleb Blaha and
Gage Timm representing UW-River Falls as the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week.
The conference weekly honor is Blaha's fourth of the season, and the eighth of his career, while Timm receives his second career WIAC weekly accolade, and the first this season. UWRF has totaled six WIAC Athlete of the Week awards this fall (
Kaleb Blaha 4x,
Justin Scheberl, and Timm).
Blaha and Timm were also selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week, leading the Falcons to a 52-14 win over UW-Whitewater on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Ramer Field, the program's first win over the Warhawks since 2001.
Blaha completed 30-of-51 passes for 492 yards and five touchdowns while rushing for 63 yards and two more scores, accounting for seven total touchdowns on the afternoon. With his first rushing touchdown on the day, Blaha reached 52 in his career to become the UWRF all-time scoring leader.
Timm led the Falcon defense against the Warhawks with 12 tackles, three tackles for loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. UWRF limited UW-Whitewater to 239 yards of total offense and just 46 on the ground in the 52-14 win.
No. 8-ranked UWRF (7-1, 4-1 WIAC) hosts No. 9 UW-La Crosse this Saturday, Nov. 8 at Ramer Field with a chance at securing a share of the WIAC Championship on the line.
