DULUTH, Minn. – The UW-River Falls indoor track and field throwers competed this Saturday at St. Scholastica's The Opener, highlighted by multiple personal records and early national marks.
In the women's weight throw,
Lauryn Schutz claimed first place with another personal-best throw of 17.67m (57-11.75), a mark that currently ranks No. 2 in Division III. With her new PR, Schutz broke her own program record of 17.35m, set just last weekend.
Ali Clifford added a third-place finish with a PR of 15.72m (51-7.00), while
Alexis Koch followed in fourth with a personal-best of 15.34m (50-4.00).
Madison Leifer,
Abby Biniek, and
Georgia Mundt also recorded personal records in the event.
In the women's shot put, Clifford led the Falcons with a second-place finish, throwing a PR of 12.06m (39-6.75).
Madison Schaper followed in third at 12.02m (39-5.25), and
Isabella Ruacho added a personal-best mark of 11.34m (37-2.50).
On the men's side,
Logan Schmidt paced the Falcons in the shot put, placing fourth overall with a personal-best throw of 13.96 meters (45-9.75).
Jacob Hauer and
Jay Ziebarth rounded out the Falcon competitors at The Opener.
