UWRF Esports Makes 3rd Consecutive WEC Championship

Following a 5-2 regular season and close Northwest Regional Championship loss, the Falcons secure the final Rocket League spot at the Fall 2025 Wisconsin Esports Conference Championship at UW-Stout this weekend.

UWRF surprised everyone with two winning rosters featuring four freshman players. The Falcon's top roster, led by senior Gavin "Olvai" Schnepper, breezed through the first part of the season with an undefeated first five weeks. As hosts of the Northwest regional playoffs, the Falcons needed to secure a top two finish to earn a shot at making the championship. Falling in a close five game series against UW-Stout, UWRF had one last chance to qualify in a play-in series against UW-Milwaukee, a team that handed them one of their two losses in the regular season. Despite a strong showing, River Falls lost once again to Milwaukee in what they believed to be their last game of the season. However, due to a roster dropping out of the championship, UWRF earned the last spot by being the highest remaining seed not yet qualified.

The Falcons will play on-site at Stout on Saturday, December 6th starting at  3pm and Sunday, December 7that 9am. Matches will be streamed live on https://www.twitch.tv/stoutesports.
