RIVER FALLS, Wis. — The UW-River Falls baseball team dropped a WIAC doubleheader against No. 1-ranked UW-Whitewater Saturday afternoon at First National Bank of River Falls Field, falling by scores of 11-0 and 18-5.
The Warhawk offense was lethal as UWW totaled eight home runs on the day, including six in game two.
The Falcons, now 8-7 overall and 3-3 during conference play, will play UW-Whitewater again tomorrow with the doubleheader scheduled to begin at noon.

In game one of the doubleheader, the top-ranked Warhawks kept the Falcon bats quiet while scoring the bulk of their runs in the latter half of the contest.
UWW scored 11 runs off 11 hits and a couple of Falcon errors, while UWRF was held to just a pair of base hits.
Through four innings, the Falcons maintained a one-run deficit, but Whitewater's offense broke open for nine runs in the fifth through seventh innings to seal the win.
John Santelman started on the mound of UWRF, lasting 2.2 innings and allowing one earned run. The Falcon pitching staff totaled eight strikeouts.

Game two featured 20 Warhawk base hits compared to five for UWRF, with the visitors closing out the game in eight innings to earn the Saturday sweep.
After tallying a pair of homers in game one, UWW followed up with back-to-back jacks to claim a 2-0 lead in the third. In the next inning, they added two more to double their lead and knock out UWRF starting pitcher
Dillon Carrell.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Falcons had answer with a home of their own as
Carter Klein hit a three-run bomb after two singles in a row from
Tanner Hraby and
Patrick Lundgren.
Just as the Falcons trimmed the Warhawk lead to one run, the visitors pulled away again with a five-run sixth inning to extend their lead to 9-3, including a three-run home run by Eli Frank – his second homer of the day. The Warhawks then put the game out of reach with a big eighth inning, plating nine runs. UWRF scored a pair in the bottom half with a two-run single from
Hudson Wagner.
