UW-River Falls Volleyball Drops Pair at Dubuque Invite

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The UW-River Falls volleyball team fell in two matches on Friday at the Dubuque Invite, dropping a 3-0 decision to host Dubuque and a 3-1 contest to St. Olaf, moving to 3-6 overall.

The Falcons will return tomorrow to compete against the Knights and Cardinals. The Falcons are 6-4 against Wartburg in the last 10 matches while the Falcons hold a 4-6 record in the last 10 meetings against Saint Mary's. 

Dubuque 3, UW-River Falls 0
The Falcons struggled against the unbeaten Spartans (10-0), falling in straight sets 25-9, 25-17, 25-17.

In the first set, the Spartans pulled away to close out 25-9. The second and third sets were more competitive, but Dubuque maintained control with efficient offense and eight service aces.

Lauren Noth led the Falcons with eight kills, while Kelsey Klesner added five. Olivia Noble dished out 13 assists, and Audrey Petersen recorded 13 digs. For Dubuque, Delainey Winkel had seven kills, and Alexis Kammerer tallied 19 assists.

St. Olaf 3, UW-River Falls 1
UWRF showed fight against St. Olaf, winning the second set but ultimately falling 3-1 with set scores of 25-17, 13-25, 25-18, and 26-24.

The Oles took the opener 25-17, but the Falcons responded in the second, hitting .189 and holding St. Olaf to a negative attack percentage for a 25-13 win. St. Olaf regained momentum in the third set 25-18, and the fourth was a tight battle that went to extra points, with the Oles prevailing 26-24.

Blessing Adebisi paced UWRF with 12 kills and five blocks, Kelsey Klesner contributed 10 kills, and Lauren Noth added seven kills and 11 digs. Olivia Noble led with 36 assists and 10 digs, while Audrey Petersen anchored the defense with 25 digs. For St. Olaf, Lilah Van Scoyoc and Mehsa Krause each had 10 kills.
