MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Augsburg University on Wednesday evening, at Edor Nelson Field, dropping to 7-2-0 after a last-minute goal ended their winning streak.
The Falcons battled in a defensive showdown, holding Augsburg scoreless for 89 minutes behind goalkeeper Courtney Bain's four saves. UWRF generated eight shots, with four on goal. Lauren Best led with two shots on target, while Sarah Wagner added two attempts. The Falcons earned one corner to Augsburg's three but couldn't break through against Tess Enlow, who made four saves.
Augsburg outshot UWRF 12-8, with Jayla Ponce firing five shots. The Auggies took the lead at 89:39 when Phoebe Alva Rosa scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Lennon Folstad and Kate Aman-Lavicky, sealing the victory for the Auggies (4-4-0).
