ST. PAUL, Minn. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team lost its first game of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 at St. Catherine University.
Down just 1-0 through the first 45 minutes with the home team holding a slim 7-5 edge in shots during the first half, the Falcons allowed three second-half goals by the Wildcats to concede their first loss of 2025.
St. Kate's struck first at the 30th minute for the eventual game-winner.
The Falcons carved out stretches of possession and led 4-2 in corner kick opportunities, but couldn't convert past the Wildcat defense and goalkeeper Brianna Valdez, who totaled four saves for the shutout.
Up next, UWRF (2-1, 0-0 WIAC) hosts Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at Ramer Soccer Stadium.
