The UW-River Falls women's basketball team continues WIAC play this week with a midweek road contest before returning home for a nationally ranked matchup inside Don Page Arena. The Falcons will travel to Eau Claire on Wednesday, Jan. 14 for a 7 p.m. tip before hosting No. 3 UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m.

UWRF TO HOST EMPLOYEE & FAMILY APPRECIATION DAY SATURDAY, JAN. 17
UW-River Falls Athletics, in partnership with the Chancellor's Office, will host Employee and Family Appreciation Day on Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Falcon Center, welcoming UWRF employees and their immediate family members for a full day of Falcon athletic action.
Admission is free for employees and their immediate family members with a valid UWRF employee ID. Complimentary refreshments will be available from 2-3 p.m. in the Royal Credit Union (RCU) Conference Room, located on the second floor above Page Arena. Cookies, hot cocoa, and coffee will be served during the first intermission of the women's hockey game or prior to the start of the women's basketball contest, while supplies last.
THE SERIES
Wednesday's matchup marks the 105th meeting, with UWRF holding a 40-65 all-time record against the Blugolds. The Falcons have found recent success in the matchup, winning four of the last five meetings. The two teams last met on Jan. 29, 2025, with Eau Claire edging out a 60-56 decision in Eau Claire.
UW-River Falls will then return home to face nationally ranked UW-Oshkosh on Saturday night. The Falcons enter the contest with a 27-69 all-time record against the Titans, with Oshkosh winning eight of the last 10 meetings.
FALCON NOTES
The Falcons are averaging 59.4 points per game while only allowing 54.0 points per contest. UWRF has been effective from the perimeter, averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game and holding opponents to just 4.3 made threes per game.
On the glass, the Falcons are pulling down 35.1 rebounds per game, while defensively forcing 17.7 opponent turnovers per contest and averages 8.9 steals per game while committing fewer turnovers than their opponents.
Zoey Buchan leads the Falcons in scoring at 13.8 points per game, shooting nearly 40 percent from three-point range and over 86 percent at the free-throw line.
Taylor Clarey has returned to the lineup, contributing 8.4 points per game while
Emily Anderson adds 8.1 points per contest and is shooting better than 35 percent from beyond the arc.
In the paint,
Olivia Boily anchors the rebounding effort with a team-best 5.2 rebounds per game, while
Jocelyn Plonski contributes across the stat sheet, averaging 4.7 rebounds and ranking among the team leaders in assists. Defensively,
Sidney Schmit leads the team in steals with 26 so far this season.
