Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Falcons Battle No. 3 UW-Oshkosh

The UW-River Falls women's basketball team faced a nationally ranked challenge Saturday afternoon, falling 65-33 to the No. 3-ranked UW-Oshkosh Titans inside Don Page Arena.

The Titans set the tone early, using defensive pressure and ball movement to build momentum throughout the contest. Despite the final score, the Falcons competed on both ends of the floor and showed toughness against one of the nation's top programs.

UW-River Falls was led offensively by freshman Emily Anderson once again, finishing with eight points, while Jocelyn Plonski added seven points in the effort. Zoey Buchan chipped in six points, and Olivia Boily provided a spark inside with four points, five rebounds, and two blocks.

The Falcons stayed within striking distance early in the first quarter, closing the period behind by three before Oshkosh pulled away with a strong second-quarter run. River Falls continued to look for offensive rhythm, creating quality looks around the rim, but the Titans' defensive presence made consistent scoring difficult throughout the matchup.

UW-River Falls will regroup and prepare for the next stretch of conference play. The Falcons will take on UW-Stevens Point Wednesday evening inside Don Page Arena, tip-off at 7 p.m.
