FALCON NOTES

  • Last weekend, the Falcons suffered losses by the slimmest of margins at UW-Eau Claire, including an overtime decision on Friday, leaving WIAC playoff positioning tight heading into the final weekend.
    • UWRF fell 4-3 in both games, rallying from a 3-1 deficit on Friday to force overtime, and nearly overcoming a four-goal deficit on Saturday, scoring three goals in the third period despite the loss.
    • Freshman defender Luke Margenau led the Falcons, totaling three points with two goals and an assist. On Friday, he scored the game-tying goal late in regulation to force overtime and followed up with a power play goal on Saturday that nearly sparked a comeback effort by the Falcons.
  • The Falcons scored power play goals in both games last weekend, leading the WIAC with a 25% success rate on the man advantage, led by Keenan Ingram's six power play goals - which is tied for the WIAC lead.
  • Keenan Ingram is the top scorer in the WIAC with 31 points off 18 goals and 13 assists. His 18 goals ranks third in NCAA Division III is the most in UWRF single-season history since former Falcon All-American Tyler Czuba scored 19 in 2009-10.
    • Among other WIAC leaders, Alex Atwill leads the WIAC in assists (19), Max Collette in faceoff wins (268), and Luke Margenau in blocked shots (64).
    • Brennan Boynton has started in all but one game in net this season for the Falcons and leads the WIAC with 27.5 saves per game. He ranks second with a .911 save percentage.
