The UW-River Falls baseball team makes its debut at First National Bank of River Falls Field this Wednesday, March 25, hosting a nonconference game against Bethel University for the 2026 home opener.
UWRF then heads to UW-La Crosse this weekend to open its WIAC campaign, scheduled to play four games against the Eagles, March 28-29.

FALCON NOTES
- The Falcons are coming off a 1-2 weekend on the the road, defeating Beloit College 7-4 on Friday before dropping a doubleheader on Saturday at Carroll University, falling 14-11 and 15-5.
- Against Beloit on Friday, Shaun Gavin earned his second win on the mound this season, tallying eight strikeouts in five innings, allowing just one earned win. Ryan Eckerle led the offense with three hits.
- UWRF opened its season going 4-1 at the RussMatt Invitational in Davenport, Fla, earning wins over Loras, Clarkson, Salem State, and Simpson.
- Through five games in Florida, John Santelman batted .500 with nine hits in 18 at bats, starting each game at shortstop.
- Vaughn Johnson led the pitching staff, making two appearance and earning two wins, recording 10 strikeouts in seven innings while conceding just two earned runs.
- Through eight games, Santelman leads the Falcons with a .548 batting average (17-for-31) while Andrew Athmann owns a .500 average (15-for-30), including a team-high five doubles and nine RBI.
