Falcons Head to Gustavus for Drake Alternative

The UW-River Falls men's and women's track & field teams continue their outdoor stretch this Saturday, traveling to Gustavus Adolphus College for the Drake Alternative.
The meet will feature a competitive mix of regional programs including Saint John's, Luther, Bethany Lutheran, Crown, Dakota Wesleyan, and more, offering the Falcons another chance to build upon their previous performances as the championship slate of the season quickly approaches.

FALCON NOTES
  • UW-River Falls enters the weekend coming off a strong set of performances at the Phil Esten Challenge, highlighted by multiple all-time marks and personal bests across event groups.
  • Leading the way, Jacob Balcome delivered a historic performance in the decathlon, capturing the event title with a program-record 7,195 points, winning five events and adding several top-three finishes along the way. His mark currently stands as one of the top performances in the nation.
  • In the field events, the Falcons saw movement in the record books. Alexis Koch moved to No. 2 all-time in program history in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.78 meters, while Ali Clifford climbed to No. 4 all-time in the shot put (12.99m). Georgia Mundt added a 45.66m discus throw finishing runner-up in the event. 
  • On the track, the Falcons continued to see strong performances in the middle-distance and sprint groups. Tyler Parker ran a personal-best 1:54.03 in the 800m, moving to seventh all-time, while Wyatt Johnson climbed to No. 6 all-time in the 1500m with a 4:01.46 finish. 
  • The women's distance group also impressed, led by Adison Wilde, who moved to No. 4 all-time in the 1500m (4:43.54) and Issabella Jeurissen followed with a No. 7 all-time mark. 
  • In the sprints, the men's 4x100 relay team of Theodore Hovde, Isaiah Juneski, Ryan Pidgeon, and Ben Johnson ran 42.06, ranking No. 2 all-time in program history. Juneski also added another top-10 program mark in the 200m (22.17).
