RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls women's soccer team scored three in the second half, including a pair of goals from Emery Bigler, as the Falcons battled Milwaukee School of Engineering to a 3-3 draw Sunday afternoon at Ramer Field.
After entering halftime trailing 1-0, UWRF responded as Bigler brought the Falcons back to even in the 54th minute, finding the back of the net off an assist from Gabby Faletti.
Just over four minutes later, Bigler struck again. Goalkeeper Courtney Bain picked up the assist on the play as Bigler's second goal of the afternoon gave the Falcons the advantage in the 58th minute. Bigler finished the match with a team-high six shots, including four on goal.
MSOE came back and answered in the 75th minute with Alexis Jamiola scoring to even the match at 2-2.
The Falcons quickly regained the lead. In the 78th minute, Abby Drontle connected with Nora Arneson, who scored the first goal of her collegiate career to put UWRF back in front.
The Raiders responded just over a minute later as Alexis Lugonzo scored in the 79th minute to tie the match at 3-3. Neither side was able to break the deadlock over the final 11 minutes.
UWRF finished with 12 shots, eight of which were on goal, while MSOE totaled 14 shots with eight on target. The Falcons held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Courtney Bain played all 90 minutes in goal, recording five saves along with her assist on Bigler's second goal.
With the draw, UW-River Falls moves to 2-1-1 on the season.
The Falcons return to action on Thursday, Sept. 17, traveling to Superior, Wis., to face UW-Superior. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
