The No. 5-ranked UW-River Falls football team is set for its first road matchup of the season this Saturday, Sept. 12, traveling to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to face No. 21-ranked Coe College.

AGAINST THE KOHAWKS
- The Falcons and Kohawks have met three times in the two program's histories, with Coe leading the series 2-1.
- UWRF hosted Coe last season in the first matchup since 2017, earning a 59-47 win.
- The Falcons and Kohawks combined for nearly 1,400 yards of total offense, including 733 from the Falcons and 569 from Kaleb Blaha alone - a new UWRF program record and third all-time in the WIAC, breaking his previously set record of 556 at Ohio Wesleyan in 2023.Â
IN THE RANKINGS
- UWRF improved from No. 7 to No. 5 in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll, and moved up to No. 6 in the D3football.com top 25 national poll.
- The Falcons were tabbed to finish third in the 2025 WIAC Preseason Poll. UW-La Crosse is predicted to claim the conference title. The Eagles made their fourth consecutive NCAA appearance a year ago and enter this season ranked No. 10 by the AFCA.
FALCON NOTES
- UWRF opened the 2026 season last Thursday at Ramer Field, defeating Southern Virginia University 73-7.
- The victory marked the first career head coaching win for interim head coach Jake Wissing, who guided the Falcons to 526 yards of total offense, including 290 through the air and 236 on the ground. UWRF scored on nine of its 13 possessions that reached the opponent's side of the field and held Southern Virginia to 172 yards of total offense.
- UWRF's 73 points scored is the most since the Falcons twice scored 75 points on two occasions during the 2023 season.
- Quarterback Peter McDevitt led the offensive attack in his Falcon debut, completing 13 of 15 passes for 231 yards and five touchdowns.
- Defensively, Nolan Israelson led the Falcons with eight tackles. Bradley Arndorfer and Noah Nusbaum each recorded six tackles, while Nusbaum added two tackles for loss. Cayden Kershaw and Ethan Perkins each recorded a sack, with Kershaw also registering two tackles for loss.
