The Falcon men's and women's swimming and diving teams had their first meet on a Friday night at the River Falls High School pool with the Scots of Macalester College. The men won, 106-93, but the women were defeated by the Scots, 128-102
For the women senior
Tamra Knight (Shoreview, MN, Mounds View)took first place in three events, the 1650 free style with a strong time of 19:49.57, the 200 IM 2:29.28 and 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.29. Sophomore
Sarah Koch (Bloomington, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's) took first placed in the 100 fly with a time of 1:08.54. Freshman
Maggie Klabunde (Fridley, MN, Fridley) also took first place in 1 meter diving with a score of 221.1.
Senior
Kevin O'Brien (Hastings, MN, Hastings) was one of several Falcons to help the men's team to the win. He took first in the 100 fly with a time of 54.33. Freshman
Hunter Magdanz (Berlin, Berlin HS) also took first place in the 500 free with a time of 5:35.88. The 200 medley relay team of
Dan Blasberg (Eagan, MN, Eagan),
Dan Ehrenberg (Hartford, Union), O'Brien and
David Slain (Roseville, MN, Roseville) took first place with a strong time of 1:45.09.
The Falcons have their next meet on Saturday, Nov. 6 when they face off against the Red Hawks of Ripon College. That meet starts at 1 p.m., at the River Falls High School pool.
