Women's Basketball Falls to UW-Oshkosh

Alise Holst (Plainview, MN, Plainview-Elgin-Millville) and Maranda Dohrn (Lake City, MN, Lake City) each had a double-double, but it wasn't enough as the No. 25 Falcons fell 61-52 to UW-Oshkosh.
Dohrn had 15 points and 10 rebounds to pace UWRF.  Holst added 12 points and 10 rebounds as well, in the losing effort.
Nikki Guhr (Muskego, Muskego) also scored in double figures with 11.
The Falcons had a stellar start to the game, opening with a 10-0 run.  The Titans however, answered back with a 10-0 run of their own.
The game remained close until the middle of the second half.  UWRF opened the second half down by 6, and the Titans capitalized on a spree of Falcon fouls to go on a 15-5 run to open the second half. 
The Titans went on to go up by as many as 16 with 9:57 to go in the game.
UWRF was unable to answer back, trailing by eight or more for remainder of the game.
The Titans were led by Michelle Boeder who had a career-best 22 points to lead all scorers.
The Falcons were once again able to win the battle of the boards, tearing down 39 compared to the Titans 23.
The Falcons did however, commit more turnovers, but by a slim 20-17 margin.
With the win, UWO snaps a five-game losing streak to UWRF.
The Falcons fall to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the WIAC.  Oshkosh meanwhile improves to 7-4 and 2-1 in the WIAC.
Up next for the Falcons is a non-conference matchup against Hamline.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Karges Center.  The Falcons are 8-3 all-time against the Pipers.
