The Falcon softball team split in a pair of games at the Augustana Tournament held Saturday in Rock Island, Ill.
UWRF opened with a 4-1 win over Gustavus Adolphus, but then lost a 2-1 decision to the host school, Augustana College.

Hayley Buchanan hit a walk off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh to help lead the Falcons to the win.
The Falcons scored four runs on nine hits and made no errors. GAC scored one run on four hits and had no errors. The Falcons scored a single run in the second and the three in the seventh. GAC scored its run in the seventh.
In the second
Ashley Goettl led off with a single to right and she was sacrificed to second by
Abbie Morris. After a second out,
Patty Olson came through with a clutch single to right to score Goettl.
The Gusties tied the game in the seventh when Jen Uleman hit a solo homer to left to lead off the inning.
That set up Buchanan's game-winning homer in RF's half of the seventh. Olson led the inning off with a single to right and
Abby Spurley pinch ran. After an out,
Nicole Lubahn reached first on an infield hit and Spurley went to second. Buchanan then hit the three-run homer to end the game.
Rose Tusa started on the mound and got the win. She pitched perfect ball for the first four innings, before the leadoff hitter in the fifth singled. Tusa allowed a double in the sixth and a homer and single in the seventh. She allowed four hits and one earned run. She struck out eight and didn't walk a batter.

The Falcons scored one run on seven hits but made two errors. AC scored two runs on just four hits and they made one error. UWRF scored its run in the sixth and the Vikings scored single runs in the fourth and fifth.
Trailing 2-0 after five innings, the Falcons scored their run. Buchanan hit a solo homer to left field with one out for the Falcon run. It was Buchanan's second round tripper of the year. Augustana scored a single run in the fourth on two hits and a Falcon error. The run in the fifth was scored with no hits and one Falcon error. That run was unearned.
Sarah Bohlen started on the mound and took the loss. She worked four innings and allowed four hits and one earned run. She struck out two and walked one and is now 1-2 this year. Morris worked the last two innings and allowed no hits and one unearned run. She struck out one and walked one.
The Falcons, now 9-6 overall, will play at the Augustana Tournament again on Sunday. They play St. Norbert at 10 a.m., and Cornell at 2 p.m.
