The UWRF women's basketball team fell in its third game of the season at Gustavus Adolphus College, 77-56, Wednesday at in St. Peter, Mnn.

Gustavus took the lead right away, and were able to score six points before the Falcons got on the scoreboard. UWRF was able to close that gap when both Kate Theisen and Katie Messman made layups, making the score 8-4 with 15:27 left to play. Gustavus lead, 38-25, at the half.

The second half was also in the Gusites favor where they went on a 5-0 streak with 5:38 left to play, making the score 71-43. The Falcons scored 13 points in the time remaining, however that was still not enough, and Gustavus walked away with the win.

The Falcons had 42 rebounds, and scored 23 bench points.

Tess Lueders led UWRF with 12 points and six rebounds. Lueders was followed in scoring by Richell Mehus who also had high totals in both categories for the Falcons with eight points, and four rebounds.

Gustavus was led in scoring by Julia Dysthe who put up 18 points, and had four assists and four steals. Britta Rinke put up 17 points for Gustavus and had two blocks.

The Falcons, 0-3, will return to the action on Saturday at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn. St. Benedict is currently 2-0 this year.
