Box Score Brianna Breiland scored two goals in the second straight shutout for the UW-River Falls women's hockey team as they won 6-0 over UW-Eau Claire.
At 7:31 into the first period
Dani Sibley scored a goal off assists by
Brook Story and
Karleigh Wolkerstorfer. Just over a minute later at 8:47
Katie Batters scored a power play goal for her fifth of the season with
Sam Greeley recording the assist.
The only goal of the second period came when Breiland scored her first of the two goals at 13:05 of the second period.
Kait Mason and
Kendal Evenson both recorded their second assists of the season on the play.
Story got on the board again when she scored an unassisted goal 11:41 into the third period.
Alice Cranston got in on the scoring frenzy at 12:51 of the third period off assists by
Leah Gefroh and
Jenna Ulberg.
The final goal of the game came when Breiland found the back of the net off the assist by
Crysta Lowell for a power play goal at 17:48 of the third period.
Twelve Falcons in all contributed in scoring this evening in the dominating win. UWRF also recorded 44 total shots on goal compared to just 12 for UWEC.
Ashley Kuechle started in goal recording her second shutout of the season with 12 total saves.
UWRF improves to 4-3 overall on the season and 2-2 in WIAC play. They will play again Tuesday evening hosting St. Olaf College with the puck set to drop at 7:05 p.m.
