Box Score The UW-River Falls Falcon volleyball team had their eight match win streak broken at the Gustavus Adolphus Tournament in a 3-1 loss to Gustavus Adolphus College. They then played to a 3-2 loss to Simpson College. UWRF falls to 8-3 overall on the season.
River Falls 1, Gustavus Adolphus 3
The Gustavus Adolphus set scores for the Falcons were 25-19, 25-15, 25-22, and 25-18 with UWRF taking the second set. UWRF had 38 kills in the match led by
Hali Tasler with 13 and
Jean Theis with eight. Tasler hit .370 in the match as well.
Lisa Keppers had the best hit percentage in the game with .556.
Alyssa Anderson led the team with 24 set assists.
The UWRF defense had three total team blocks and 28 digs.
Brianna Muetzel and
Lexi Pingel both had seven digs in the match.
River Falls 2, Simpson 3
The set scores in the Simpson match were 25-22, 25-21, 25-19, 25-22, and 15-11. UWRF won the first and fourth set.Â
Thies hit a .400 in the match with 12 kills. As a team UWRF had 48 kills.
Rebecca Gasper added 10 kills and Keppers had nine. The UWRF defense had a strong performance with 61 digs and six team blocks. Tasler had 13 digs,
Lexi Pingel also added 13 digs and Raven Kline had 11 digs.
UWRF will continue play in the tournament tomorrow morning against Central College at 9 a.m. and Augsburg College at 11 a.m.Â
