Women's Swimming & Diving Team Beats Hamline

Falcons Win, 187-79

The Falcon women's swimming & diving team won 10 events en route to a 187-79 win over Hamline on Saturday afternoon at the River Falls High School pool.

UWRF won both relay events. They opened with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:04. Kayla Donahue, Abby Haugen, Kelsey Kuehnhold and Katy Dorn made up the team. The 200 free relay team of Erica Emery, Candy Hoelzel, Dorn and Becca Skelley won that race in 1:48.56.

In the individual events, Donahue won the 100 back in 1:05.6 and the 200 back in 2:24.57. Becca Skelly dominated in the freestyle events. She took the top spot in the 200 free in 2:04.45, the 100 free in 56.93 and the 500 free in 5.38.75.

Abby Haugen won the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.75 200 breaststroke in 2:46.23. In the 50 free Emery won first place with a time of 27.2 and Hoelzel won the 200 IM in 2:26.86.

The Falcons will next compete in the WIAC Championships on Feb. 20-22 in Brown Deer, Wis.
