Women's Swimming & Diving Competes in Second Day of WIAC Meet

The Falcon women's swimming & diving team competed in the second day of the WIAC Meet on Friday in Brown Deer, Wis.

Three individuals placed in the top 16 in three events. Becca Skelly finished 13th in the 200 free with a season-best time of 2:00.66. Candy Hoelzel placed 16th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of season-best time of 1:13.45. Kayla Donahue placed 16th in the 100 back with a time of 1:04.25.

The Falcon 200 medley relay team of Donahue, Abby Haugen, Hoelzel and Skelly placed fifth with a time of 1:57.13. And the 800 free relay team of Hannah Skurzewski, Cori Pelletier, Kelsey Kuehnhold and Donahue placed sixth with a time of 8:56.31.

At the start of the finals tonight Hoelzel was named to the 2014 WIAC All-Sportsmanship team.

UWRF is in sixth place in the team standings with 115 points. La Crosse is the team leader with 601 points.

The Falcons will compete in the third, and final, day of the championships on Saturday.
