Sorensen and Tolkkinen Qualify for National Championships

River Falls, Wis. - (uwrfsports.com) Senior Colton Sorensen and junior Linsey Tolkkinen have qualified to compete in the NCAA DIII Track and Field Championships hosted by UW-La Crosse on May 24-26th.

Sorensen, a recently graduated senior, will be competing in the pole vault on Saturday May 26th. This will be his first time competing in the NCAA DIII outdoor championship after making two appearances at the indoor championships. Ranked 18th in the nation, Sorensen qualified with a height of 4.88m (16ft), just short of his school record of 4.92m (16ft 1.7in). 

Junior Linsey Tolkkinen will be making her first national championship appearance in the 10,000m run on Thursday, May 24th. Tolkkinen ran her qualifying time last week with a 36:24.82, a 30-second improvement over her previous personal record. This currently puts her at #3 on the UWRF All-Time list and ranks her 22nd in the nation. 
The NCAA DIII Track and Field Championships will be hosted by UW-La Crosse May 24-26, best of luck to Linsey and Colton!
