RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The No. 4-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team is set to open its 2021-22 WIAC schedule this weekend, heading to UW-Stevens Point on Friday prior to hosting Northland College during the home opener on Saturday.

THE SERIES
Friday's game marks the 81st all-time meeting between UWRF and UWSP, with the Falcons owning a 43-28-9 series advantage. Last season, the Falcons earned four wins against the Pointers, including two during the WIAC Tournament.
UWRF is undefeated against Northland in the all-time series, 11-0 agasint the Lumberjills. Last season, the Falcons swept Northland with a pair of 13-0 wins.
LAST TIME OUT
The Falcons are coming off a pair of non-conference wins last week against MIAC opponents, Augsburg University and Saint Mary's University, remaining undefeated at 4-0.
On Thursday, Nov. 4 at Augsburg in Minneapolis, Minn., UWRF won a special teams battle against the Auggies, scoring two power play goals along with one shorthanded. The Falcons rallied from a two-goal deficit and won 5-4 in overtime as
Abigail Stow scored the game-winner.
At Saint Mary's on Saturday, Nov. 6 in Winona, Minn., the Falcons shut out the Cardinals 7-0, with seven Falcons recording multi-point performances.
Bailey Olson and
Kora Torkelson each scored two goals, while Stow tallied three assists.
STOW EARNS WEEKLY HONORS
Senior forward
Abigail Stow scored twice, including the OT game-winner at Augsburg before adding three assists and Saint Mary's, totaling five points on the week. She was awarded with the WIAC Player of the Week and the Royal Credit Union Female Falcon of the Week.
IN THE POLLS
After debuting ranked No. 4 nationally in the opening USCHO Division III Women's Hockey poll, the Falcons remained ranked No. 4 in this week's poll, released Nov. 8. WIAC foe UW-Eau Claire is ranked No. 3.
