WHEATON, Ill. – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team fell 59-58 to Hanover College during its second game of the Wheaton College Classic Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons, now 1-2 overall, shot well from beyond the arc (8-of-16) and held a 42-36 edge in rebounds, but were held under 40 percent overall from the field.
Logan Jedwabny led the Falcons with 17 points, including a 5-for-8 mark from three-point range.
Rodrick Payne followed with 14 points while
Mason Anderson totaled a -high seven rebounds.
After a couple early lead changes, UWRF led for most of the first half and by as many as six when a
Jack Leifker jumper put the Falcons up 17-11 near the midway point of the half.
Hanover's shooting efficiency improved in the second half while the. The Panthers scored the second half's opening basket, which was answered by a pair of Falcon jumpers from Anderson and Payne. Hanover answered with back-to-back three-pointers and held a lead for the remainder of regulation.
Logan Jedwabny was named to the All-Tournament Team.
UWRF returns to action on Tuesday at Northwestern-St. Paul.
