WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's basketball team fell 61-46 versus Carroll University Saturday evening during a neutral site matchup at JustAgame Field House.
The Falcons struggled to find a shooting stride all night, shooting a season-low 14-of-47 from the field and 4-of-21 from beyond the arc. Carroll held a 43-31 edge in rebounds.
UWRF and Carroll traded a few leads to open the game, and a
Logan Jedwabny layup tied the game at 17-17 with 6:25 left in the first half. The Pioneers answered on an 11-2 run in the final minutes of the half to claim a 28-19 heading into the locker room.
In the second half, the Falcons' shooting improved slightly and forced their way to the free throw line, but made just one three-pointer while the Pioneers shot over 40 percent and maintained a lead throughout.
Rodrick Payne led the Falcons with 15 points and seven rebounds.
The Falcons head to St. Olaf College on Tuesday, facing the Oles in Northfield, Minn.
