EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The UW-River Falls men's hockey team fell 3-0 Saturday evening at UW-Eau Claire.
With the loss, the Falcons finish the regular season with a 13-11-1 overall record and 9-6-0-1 ledger in the WIAC.
While the Falcons finished second in the conference standings with 27 points, the seeds for the WIAC Tournament will be determined by the league coaches and athletics directors due to an imbalance of games played.
The Blugolds limited the Falcons to a season-low 14 shots on goal, while drawing six UWRF penalties. Despite the Falcons holding UWEC scoreless on the man advantage, the home team scored one in the first period and twice during the back half of the third period to concede the loss.
Dysen Skinner suffered the loss, making 29 saves. He finished the regular season with a 7-5 record in net.
The WIAC Tournament will begin with the first round next weekend. The No. 1 and 2 seeds receive a bye to the Feb. 25-26 semifinals.
