RIVER FALLS, Wis. - The WIAC top-seeded and No. 4-ranked UW-River Falls women's hockey team opens O'Brien Cup competition this weekend, hosting No. 4 seed UW-Superior Saturday-Sunday at Hunt Arena in the WIAC Tournament Semifinal matchup.
ALL INDIVIDUALS REGARDLESS OF VACCINATION STATUS ARE EXPECTED TO WEAR A FACE COVERING INSIDE THE FALCON CENTER.

- Falcon fans are encourage to wear red at Hunt Arena, including the red "GAME DAY" student shirts.

- Thanks to the UW-River Falls Student Government Association, ALL UW-River Falls student tickets are free for WIAC Tournament games in River Falls. Tickets are available at the door an hour before game time.

THE SERIES
- This weekend's games mark the 84th and 85th all-time meetings between UW-River Falls and UW-Superior, with the Falcons holding a 51-27-5 series advantage.
- UWRF swept the regular season series versus the Yellowjackets, winning 6-1 and 5-1.
- Against UW-Superior during the WIAC Tournament, the Falcons are 5-0-1 versus the Yellowjackets.
WIAC O'BRIEN CUP HISTORY
- The Falcons own an overall record to 21-3-2 during the WIAC Tournament and have won six O'Brien Cup titles since 2014.
- UWRF won the 2021-22 WIAC Regular Season Championship with a series sweep over UW-Eau Claire, granting the Falcons the top seed for the postseason playoffs.

HOFF TOPS UWRF RECORD BOOK
- Fifth-year senior forward Callie Hoff has become the UWRF women's hockey all-time goal scoring and points leader this season. At the College of St. Scholastica, Hoff scored her 85th career goal to pass Carly Moran (2014-18), and against Augsburg University on Feb. 1, she recorded her 169th career point to become the Falcons' all-time leading scorer, passing Dani Sibley (2013-17).
- Hoff is the Division III national leader this season in points per game (2.5), with 52 points off 21 goals and 31 assists in 21 games played.
FALCON NOTES
- Fifth-year senior goaltender Sami Miller totaled 45 saves, leading to a sweep over No. 5-ranked UW-Eau Claire last weekend, shutting out the Blugolds on Saturday. She was named the WIAC Women's Hockey Athlete of the Week.
- At the College of Saint Benedict last Tuesday, Feb. 8 in St. Cloud, Minn., UWRF scored four shorthanded goals to break an NCAA Division III single-game record. The previous DIII record of three has been set by six teams, most recently by Chatham vs. Lebanon Valley in 2021. UWRF is the DIII leader this season with 13 shorthanded goals.
- The Falcons have outscored their opponents 137-30 this season, leading the WIAC and ranking fourth nationally in goals scored.
- Behind Callie Hoff, fellow senior forwards Abigail Stow and Kora Torkelson rank among the WIAC's top-three scorers and in the nation's top-20. Stow ranks sixth in DIII with 1.82 points per game, and Torkelson at No. 20 with 1.41.
- UWRF is lethal on the power play, with the second-best scoring rate in the country with a .342 success rate. Before facing the Blugolds last weekend, the Falcons scored on the power play in eight consecutive games.
