WIAC MAKES CHANGES TO WIAC TOURNAMENT
In response to a significant imbalance in the number of games played by teams throughout the conference due to the COVID-19 protocols, the WIAC Basketball Tournament will now include all eight conference teams.
First round contests for both genders will be held Feb. 18. The women's tournament will continue as previously scheduled with the second round on Feb. 21, semifinals on Feb. 23 and championship on Feb. 25.
Both tournaments will be "re-seeded" after the first and second rounds.
A regular-season champion (or champions) will be crowned after the regular-season schedule only if it can be mathematically determined. If it is unable to be mathematically determined, the winner of the conference tournament will also receive the regular-season title.
FALCON NOTES
- UWRF is coming off a pair of losses last week to nationally ranked opponents, No. 20-ranked UW-Eau Claire and No. 8-ranked UW-Whitewater.
- Through two games, Macy Nilsen led the Falcons with 15 rebounds and 11.5 points per game.
- The Falcons lead the WIAC with 8.0 three-point field goals made per game.
- UWRF ranks seventh nationally and third in the WIAC with 12.7 turnovers per game.
- Macy Nilsen ranks fourth in the WIAC with 14.6 points per game.
- Jenna Zeman ranks fourth in the WIAC with 2.8 assists per game.
